This Thursday at 8 a.m., the first entry on Long Point Social Club's court calendar is a 65+ open play session that runs until 11. Padel open play starts 30 minutes later. From 1 to 4 p.m. there is a $5 pickleball session under the pavilion, and another $5 session runs on the uncovered courts from 6 to 9. A "Closer" open play keeps four courts going until midnight. None of those sessions needs a membership.
Andy Aweida and Jeff Barati of the Kirby Group opened the two-acre club at 7202 Long Point Road on August 26. It sells memberships from $79 to $399 a month, and it calls itself a club. Its daily schedule, though, is built around walk-up players, and the paid tiers mostly sell timing.
The Same Two Acres Used to Hold 20 Seats a Seating
The address has history. In January 2021, the Spring Branch Management District reported that Brandon Silva and Steven Salazar had chosen "two acres at 7202 Long Point Road" for Degust, a tasting-menu restaurant, and Diversión, a cocktail bar. The district listed the pair as the team behind Wooster's Garden, Heights Bier Garten, Pitch 25 and Holman Draft Hall. Degust took reservations only, with three seatings a night of 20 seats each. Diversión held about 30 people on a first-come basis.
So the site has gone from one of the hardest tables to book in Spring Branch to a place with 12 pickleball courts, eight of them covered, plus four padel courts. You can reserve a court without paying a membership fee. There is also a link to the Heights. DiningOut lists Heights Biergarten and Bayou Heights Biergarten among the Kirby Group's other concepts. That means a Heights beer-garden name is connected to both businesses that have occupied this lot.
Before it opened, DiningOut's August 19 report quoted Aweida: "Our goal is to build a community where everyone can find a way to participate and feel welcome." The same report said the club would offer four membership tiers but would not require membership, and that public court reservations would be available.
What Each Tier Adds
The club's CourtReserve membership page puts the free option next to the paid ones. As listed in mid-October 2026, the tiers differ mainly in how far ahead you can book and how many court credits you get each month.
| Tier | Monthly price | Advance booking window | What else is listed |
|---|---|---|---|
| Non-Member | Free | 7 days | Cancel up to 12 hours ahead without penalty |
| Social Member, Pickleball | $79 | 10 days | 3 pickleball credits, 1 open play session, 10% off league fees |
| Social Member, Padel | $99 | 10 days | 3 padel credits, 1 open play session, 10% off league fees |
| Couples Social | $127.50 | 10 days | 10% off food and beverage |
| Active Member, Pickleball | $169 | 14 days | 6 pickleball credits, 2 open play sessions |
| Active Member, Padel | $189 | 14 days | 6 padel credits, 2 open play sessions |
| Club Member | $279 | 21 days | 8 credits for either sport, 4 open play sessions, 1 free clinic |
| Founders Member | $399 | 28 days | 12 credits, unlimited open play, 1 free clinic |
Look down the booking-window column. A non-member sees one week ahead. The top tier sees four weeks ahead. In between, the paid tiers sell court credits and a few included open play sessions, and the cheapest entry is the $5 open play blocks that fill most days. For someone who plays a weeknight session now and then, the free account and a $5 bill cover it. The paid tiers make sense for players who want a fixed court at a fixed hour, booked weeks in advance.
You need an account either way. The portal's court-booking pages for both sports ask you to log in or create an account first. What Now Houston reported that public court reservations are also available by calling 346-240-2606.
The Drop-In Week, Mapped
The club's calendar for the week of October 17 to 24 shows a repeating pattern of public sessions:
- Padel open play most mornings from 8:30 to 11:30, and on several evenings from 6 or 7 p.m. On Thursday, October 29, the morning padel block is listed at $15.
- Rise and Shine pickleball open play on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- $5 pickleball open play under the pavilion on weekdays from 1 to 4 p.m.
- Evening $5 open play on the uncovered courts from 6 to 9 p.m., with 32 spots per session.
- Closer open play from 9 p.m. to midnight.
- Youth Intro to Pickleball on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m.
- 65+ open play on Thursday from 8 to 11 a.m.
Most of these sessions still had plenty of open spots a few days before. The scarce item at the club is the planned league night. The Beginner Co-Ed Social League on Tuesday, October 20 was listed as full. Drop-in play costs almost nothing. A spot in a beginner league with a set group of people sold out.
After 3 p.m., the Courts Are Optional
The club's food and drink hours run on their own schedule, separate from the courts. The club lists these daily hours:
| Space | Hours |
|---|---|
| Courts | 8 a.m. to midnight |
| LP Café | 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. |
| LP Bar & Kitchen | 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. |
| The Bixby | 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. |
| Weekend brunch | Saturday and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. |
LP Café serves specialty coffee, pastries, bagels, smoothies and grab-and-go items. The kitchen's menu includes Pickleballs, which are cream cheese and dill pickle fritters served with yogurt ranch. It also has Third Shot Wings glazed with Calabrian chile and Tajín honey, a double-smash Bixby Burger, and the 7202 Steak, which is a sweet potato finished with miso butter and green apple gremolata.
The Bixby is a separate lounge with its own entrance. DiningOut's September 16 roundup reported that it opened the week before, with craft cocktails, its own food menu and no televisions. On the main property there are nine TVs and an LED video wall for watch parties, plus lawn games and a dog park. Parking is free.
DiningOut's opening coverage called the place a bet "that Spring Branch is ready for a new kind of neighborhood hangout—racquet optional." The posted hours back that up. The café opens at the same hour as the first court, and the lounge stays open two hours after the courts close.
Dates Worth Holding Through December
Outside groups have started booking the club too. That gives non-members another way in.
- Friday, October 23, 7 to 9 p.m. The club's Friday Night Coed Pickleball Ladder League. Most spots were still open earlier in the week.
- Monday, October 26. Last day for the lower price on the Houston Sports & Social Club Sunday league: $300 per team or $130 per individual. The price rises starting October 27.
- Tuesday, October 27, 6 to 9 p.m. Evening $5 open play on uncovered courts 9 through 12.
- Thursday, October 29, 6:30 to 8 p.m. AAF-Houston's Pickle Pitch: open play for all skill levels, a silent auction of work by local artists, a best-costume contest and networking for people in advertising and design. Each ticket includes one drink.
- Friday, October 30. Signup deadline for the HoustonSSC Sunday 2-on-2 league. Free agents are welcome.
- Sundays November 1, 8, 15 and 22, then December 6 and 13. HoustonSSC league play from 5 to 7:30 p.m., with beginner and intermediate divisions.
The December 13 league night is the last date on the calendar so far. Until more is posted, the regular schedule stays the same: a free account, a $5 session most evenings, and coffee from 8 a.m.
A new place on Long Point that fills from 8 a.m. to 2 a.m. changes the area around it, and that matters if you own nearby or are thinking about the streets close to it.
